It seems that I must have imagined seeing the option to limit or remove bonus forest fights, so for now I'm going to leave things stand as they are and if people have other ideas or suggestions you can certainly mail me.

Regardless, I still hope you're enjoying the game. I haven't done much to it for a few months now and everything seems to be running fairly smooth, which is a good sign. For now I'll probably leave things as they are and in a few months look for new modules to add (if any have been released by then). Ofcourse, I am still looking for a few admins that wish to take over adding new monsters, weapons, armors, etc. to the game. I would also like to find a few coders (PHP) to write new modules. So, if anyone is interested, feel free to drop me a line.

Well, that is all for now. Not much new to report.

Poll: Forest Fights

Forest fights and flawless freebies are getting out of hand for warrior classes. In order to address this issue, I have a few solutions in mind. They are as follows:
Leave at 15 forest fights per new day (2 - 8%)

Increase forest fights to 30 per new day but remove the flawless freebie (13 - 52%)

Leave at 15 but cap the number of free fights awarded per new day (10 - 40%)

Hey Folks,

I've made a few changes to the game overall in order to slow down the rampant leveling. I'm glad you all enjoy the game enough to play all the time but I want that enjoyment to last. Right now people are getting dragon kills in 2-3 RL days whereas my target is 5-7 RL days.

Some of the changes I've made are as follows:

1) Decreased newdays from 6 per 24 hour period to 5.

2) Disallowed leveling more than one level per new day (this ensure that it'll take 3 RL days at minimum to reach level 15)

3) Increased the chance for multiple enemies to attack after 8 dragon kills from 10% to 30%.

4) Lowered forest fights from 20 to 15*.

* On this change, I've considered increasing the number of forest fights per new day from 20 to 30 but removing the "free" fight you receive for a flawless kill.

I know this change would mostly hurt warrior classes but the benefit would be to non-warrior classes who rarely get flawless kills. I'll post a poll for you to vote in on this idea.

Thats about it for now. As always, feel free to drop me a mail with any concerns you might have or ideas to improve the game. Also, any advertising you can do to draw in more players would be greatly appreciated as I'm still hoping to bring in a much larger base of players.

Looking for administrators

Hey simple folks, Gawd talking to you again.

I am going to be looking for a few staff members to join Love and I. I would like to add one more coder to the group and a few good peeps to work on adding new weapons, armor, monsters, etc.

For the coder, indepth knowledge of PHP and MySQL are required. The entire game and modules are written in PHP and it all, obviously, interacts with the SQL DB. Linux/Unix knowledge is a plus as that is the server OS the game runs on.

As far as administrators to work on new items for the game, you do not need any coding knowledge. What is important is to have a sense of humor and the ability to come up with additions. Creativity is a definite plus.

Requirements for both positions are good communication skills and the desire to improve the game.

If this interests you, send mail to Gawd with a brief description of what you're interested in doing along with any relevant experience.

I hope everyone is having fun playing Legend of the Green Dragon.

We've completed most of the changes in the conversion to a world reminiscent of Amber. As of this time, not much new is being added to the game; instead we are focusing on fixing what is here already.

A number of bugs have been reported and those are greatly appreciated. Please don't hesitate to drop me a mail or file a petition with ideas, problems, balance issues, etc. I'll try to respond to everyone and let you know what the status is as far as any concerns you might bring up.

I'd also like to thank you all for being patient in this process. I, personally, have never ran/setup this game and so a lot of this is new to me also. Sometimes this means that it takes a bit of time for me to find the obvious fix (just ask Morph) but I will find it eventually.

Also, feel free to spread the word to friends, family, other forums, etc. I'd like to see a stable and thriving player base in the future. On the flip side of this, if you notice any lag issues, let me know. If worse comes to worse, I have another server or two at my disposal that are much more powerful than the one I'm running the game on now. I just don't want to move it until I absolutely have to but I will if its lagging to the point of not being fun to play.

Lastly, we welcome any suggestions you might have in ways to improve the game. One of the issues we have been talking about is how to keep players interested once their daily allotment of turns has run out. Obviously we can't give unlimited turns as that would just let people level and kill the dragon over and over. Ideally, I would like to see it take 5-7 actual days to go from level 1 to dragon death. Right now I think we are around 4 days for those what are actively pursuing the dragon kill.
